Slack integration
The Slack integration lets your team ask the company brain questions without leaving Slack. Answers use the same connected tools and knowledge as the web chat, and every Slack question is saved to your chat history on the web.
Get the best answers first
Before connecting Slack, set your brain up so it has something to answer from. Best practice:
- Create a Learny Brain account — pick your subdomain and verify your email.
- Connect your tools/apps — open your brain's Connections and link the apps your team uses. The more you connect, the more Learny can answer.
- Create a SamePage — capture the facts, links, and context your team asks about most. SamePage is always included as context.
- Add to Slack — connect your Slack workspace (below).
Enable Slack (admins)
- Go to Settings → Integrations in the sidebar.
- Click Add to Slack and approve the permissions for your workspace.
- You'll return to the Integrations page showing Connected.
- In Slack, invite the bot to any channel with
/invite @Learny.
Only people whose email matches an active member of your Learny workspace get answers — everyone else is prompted to get an account first.
Three ways to ask
/learnycommand — type/learny <your question>anywhere in Slack for a quick, one-off answer.- Direct message — chat with the Learny app like any teammate. DM threads keep context, so you can ask follow-ups.
- @mention in a channel — write
@Learny <question>in a channel (or thread) the bot has been invited to. Learny replies in the thread so the conversation stays tidy.
Replies in the same thread (DM or channel) continue the same conversation, so Learny remembers what you were discussing.
